The electrode housing and liquid junction are fully covered or made from PTFE material. This design is intended for strong corrosive and easily contaminated extreme conditions. PTFE has excellent chemical inertness. It withstands long term immersion across the full pH range from 0 to 14. It resists concentrated acids concentrated alkalis and organic solvents. The glass membrane has very low alkali error. It remains accurate from pH 12 to 14 with no obvious drift. The PTFE flat or porous liquid junction has a smooth surface that does not attract suspended solids or salt crystals. The junction does not block easily. The gel reference electrode requires no maintenance. Online plug and play is possible. The maintenance cycle is extended by three to five times.
