This fiber contains no hydrophilic groups and does not absorb water or swell when handling water-based materials. The fiber surface is smooth and the cross section is nearly round, providing a good foundation for weaving. Warp and weft threads interlace at set densities to form a stable fabric structure. The gaps between yarns are relatively consistent in size, so air encounters little difference in resistance when passing through the cloth, and the air permeability stays within a narrow fluctuation range. Stable air permeability means that the filter cake forms at a consistent speed without local areas becoming too thick or too thin. The molecular chain of polypropylene fiber contains no chemical bonds that are easily attacked by acids or alkalis, only stable carbon-carbon single bonds and carbon-hydrogen bonds.
