This is a measured number from lab tests. The cloth does not break easily under normal operating pressure. The fibers also stretch before breaking. The elongation range is 18 to 45 percent. This means the cloth can stretch quite a bit without falling apart. The cloth also has good elastic recovery. At 10 percent elongation, the recovery rate is above 90 percent. This means after the cloth stretches, it goes back to its original shape. It does not stay stretched out. This is important for filter cloth.
